Smile For The Camera

While on a kayak trip around Phillip Edward Island, we camped on Silver Island. A small pool was nestled near the waters edge and it had several frogs. This fellow decided to stick his head up out of the water just enough to check us out and smile for the camera. Later that evening we spotted a Massasauga rattlesnake nearby.

Pitcher’s Thistle

Pitcher’s Thistle (Cirsium Pitcheri) is a threatened species that grows on the beaches and grassland dunes along the shorelines of Lakes Michigan, Superior, and Huron.
